Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun Makes Clarification on Peace Talk held in Kunming City

State Administration Council Information Team Leader Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun made clarifications to the media agencies and organizations regarding the peace talks which was held in Kunming City, on 4 March. In this regard:

• The peace talk is an event agreed with both sides that must not reveal the meeting minutes with the intent not to harm the peace and the matters to be discussed further.
• The territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country will be strongly maintained.
• The path of ceasefire and reducing of conflict will be continued for ensuring the stability of socioeconomic life the local people.
• The stability of border area, rule of law, management of border gates and trade processes will be under the administration of the government of both countries.
• Myanmar government is carrying out the protection of the interests relating to the China and Myanmar and it will be continued.
• The drugs production and distribution and the cyber crimes that affect the stability and security of border area will be cracked down decisively with the cooperation of both countries.
• Myanmar would never accept any action that harms the interest of the neighbouring countries using the territory of Myanmar.

The Maj-Gen expressed his gratitude to the government of the People’s Republic of China and stakeholders who organized the peace talk successfully.
