The Union Election Commission met with staff from Ministries and representatives from political parties and held events to clarify and demonstrate test voting in regard to the Myanmar Electronic Voting Machine (MEVM) from 30 August to 5 September.
- A total of 205 staff from the Ministry of Border Affairs and 205 staff from the Ministry of Energy participated in the demonstration and trial voting using MEVM on 30 August.
- Similarly, a total of 515 staff from the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations and the Ministry of Legal Affairs participated in the demonstration and trial voting using MEVM on 31 August.
- A total of 168 staff from the Ministry of Planning and Finance participated in the demonstration and trial voting using MEVM on 1 September.
- On 5 September, the Rangon region Chief Minister and the region government members of ministers, region-level departmental officials and staff were shown the demonstration and trial voting of MEVM.
- On 5 September, 124 representatives of 35 political parties participated in the demonstration and trial voting using MEVM at Mingalar Hall of the Yangon region government office.
Using the Electronic Voting Machine will have many benefits such as no occurrence of voter fraud, quick voting, achieving voting results in a short time, transparency, no cancelled votes, and reducing the cost of printing ballots.
Besides the benefits of using the Myanmar Electronic Voting Machine (MEVM), Myanmar will be able to hold qualified free and fair elections with good reputations as per the democratic norms in the age of technology.
The events were attended by the UEC members, officials concerned and officers and staff of relevant departments, and they participated in demonstrations and the trial voting.
