The 5th Quality Conference was being held from 1 to 2 September in Chengdu, People’s Republic of China and the Myanmar delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Planning and Finance U Win Shein attended the conference.
The opening ceremony of the conference was held at Chengdu Century City New International Convention Center on 1 September and the DPM and Union Minister U Win Shin delivered an opening remark as follows –
- Myanmar is stepping up its digital system in the financial sector and encouraging green business development. For instance, giving preferential treatment for EVs and their spare parts importers including reduced taxation.
- As a short-term plan, importing EVs from abroad is prioritized until 2025.
- He hoped for deeper economic cooperation between Myanmar and the People’s Republic of China and investment opportunities would be promoted.
- Myanmar follows ASEAN Quality Assurance and Recognition of Competency Certification Systems.
- He also stressed that the discussions at the Conference would promote economic cooperation among countries and also strengthen the deep cooperation of partnership beyond the anticipation.
The opening ceremony was attended by Mr Zhang Guoqing, Vice-Premier of the People’s Republic of China, Mr Luo Wen, Minister of the Department of State Administration for Market Regulation, Mr Huang Qiang, the governor of Sichuan Province and guests from WTO, international standardization organizations, other international organizations and business persons attended the Fifth China Quality Conference.
After the opening ceremony, eight small forums and a Matchmaking Meeting between national technological organizations and business organizations from Sichuan province were conducted.
