Myanmar Stands at the 8th Ranking in 10 Largest Exporters of Rice in the World

Myanmar has reached at the 8^th ranking in 10 largest exporters of rice in the fiscal year of 2023-2024.

Myanmar Rice Federation yearly earns USD 700-800 million from the export of 2.1 tonnes of rice to foreign countries. Despite less export amount, the foreign income from rice export has not been decreased as the price of exported rice has risen in foreign countries. During 10-month period in the fiscak year of 2023-2024, Myanmar has earned USD 574 million from the export of rice and broken rice.

In the current fiscal year, the export of rice will be reduced  in the rest of this fiscal year to stabilize domestic rice market, it is reported.
