The combined team comprising Anti-Narcotics Task Force members are putting an emphasis on seizure of narcotic drugs and drug-trafficking. According to the tip-off of a conscientious civilian, the combined team searched and seized the drugs as follows:
- In the morning of 13 February, the combined team searched the Isuzu Light Truck, heading to Padaung from Pyay, driven by Hein Paing Oo, at the beginning of Nawaday Bridge in Pyay township of Bago region and seized 1.41 million stimulant tablets on the vehicle;
- In the evening of 13 February, they arrested Aung Ko Latt, Zaw Myint (aka) Yaykhae and Lin Lin Htike on Pathein- Monywa Highway of Minhla township, together with 0.24 million stimulant tablets;
- On 14 February, they arrested Kyaw Hla, who was involved in carrying stimulant tablets, in Mindone township;
- During the afore-said incidents, the combined team arrested five drug-related offenders, together with MMK3.3 billion worth of 1.65 million stimulant tablets.
The offenders intended to transport the said stimulant tablets to the border with Rakhine State from Yangon Region. Legal action has been taken against them under the law, and officials are conducting ongoing investigations to identify the chain of drug-related offences, it is reported.
