Opening Ceremony of Pre-job Capacity Enhancement Training Course 1/2024 for Staff Officers who will serve Duties in Forthcoming Elections Held

The Opening Ceremony of the Pre-job Capacity Enhancement Training Course 1/2024 for the Staff Officers who will serve duties at Township Election Sub-commission Offices took place at the meeting hall of the Union Election Commission (UEC) Office in Nay Pyi Taw on 26 February.

 At the opening ceremony, the UEC Chair delivered a speech as follows:

• The trainee officers are going to serve parallel duties of office and Township election sub-commission. After that, they will be assigned as Township electoral officer. Moreover, they will be appointed as the Secretary of Township Election Sub-commission after becoming a public admired person.
• The electoral officers are going to serve both duties of office and election.
• Continuous efforts are required to coordinate with relevant departments to ensure correct voter lists in the elections.
• Only when the election commission, political parties and voters join hand together, will be the election successfully held. The commission is of importance for successfully holding the election and it needs to conduct the processes in accord with the law and by-laws.

The ceremony was attended by the UEC members, officials and 17 trainees from the Township Election Sub-commission Offices. The training will be conducted from 26 to 29 February, it is reported.
