Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe received H.E. Mr. Andrey Rudenko, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw on 21 February.
During the meeting, they discussed further strengthening of existing friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation between Myanmar and Russia especially in economic and tourism sectors, provision of more scholarships for Myanmar students and enhancement of collaboration both in regional and multilateral arenas.
They also highlighted the importance of government-to-government relations as well as people-to-people contacts between the two countries. The Deputy Prime Minister and foreign minister also clarified the government’s endeavors to restore peace and stability in the country, it is reported.
