For holding Multiparty Democratic General Election, the Union Election Commission (UEC) had conducted the demonstrations of trial voting using Myanmar Electronic Voting Machine (MEVM) with the participation of the representatives from the political parties, departmental staff of the ministries and people in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, Yangon and Mandalay Regions. Moreover, the UEC continued its demonstration in the presence of the observers in townships of Ayeyawady Region as of 15 January 2024 as follows:
- From 7 to 13 February, the military personnel and families under the Western Command including 5,454 voters in Pathein, Thabaung, Eainme, Ngaputaw, Wakhema, Kangyidaung, Labutta, Kyonepyaw and Mawlamyinekyune Townships participated in the trial voting.
- From 14 to 20 February, a total of 8,184 voters in Kyaungkone, Pyapon,Yekyi, Bogalay, Zalun, Dedaye, Hinthada, Kyaiklat, Lemyethna, Maubin, Ingapu, Nyaungdon, Myanaung and Pantanaw Townships participated in the trial voting. Up to date, a total of 13,638 voters have been conducted trial voting.
The officials from the UEC inspected the test voting processes and left necessary instructions, explaining about the step-by-step process for voting with MEVM.
