Union Ministers Receive Ambassador of Belarus to Myanmar H.E. Mr. Uladzimir Baravikou

Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe, Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Dr. Kan Zaw, Union Minister for Commerce U Tun Ohn received Ambassador of Belarus to Myanmar H.E. Mr. Uladzimir Baravikou at relevant ministries on 19 February.

  • During the meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs and Ambassador of Belarus to Myanmar, they cordially exchanged views on: further consolidation of the existing friendship and cooperation including activities to commemorate the 25th Anniversary, which will fall in September 2024, of diplomatic relations between Myanmar and Belarus; promotion of bilateral trade and facilitation of more scholarships for Myanmar students in Belarus. The Deputy Prime Minister also appraised the Myanmar Government’s priorities and ongoing efforts for economic reforms, peace and national reconciliation.
  • During the meeting between Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations and Ambassador of Belarus to Myanmar, both sides cordially discussed matters on trade, investment and economic cooperation between the two countries.
  • During the meeting between Union Minister for Commerce and Ambassador of Belarus to Myanmar, they discussed matters: to cement friendship between the two countries; to increase exports of the primary agro-products, such as rice, varieties of pulses and CMP garment products; to make cooperation for boosting trade after the invitation of technology and investments from Belarus.

The meetings were; together with Union Ministers, attended by deputy ministers, directors-general, permanent secretaries and other officials, it is reported.
