Officials Systematically Continue to Welcome Myanmar Nationals Returning from Abroad at Various Border Crossings

Officials continue to welcome Myanmar nationals who returned from abroad at various border crossings and the following returnees were welcomed from 3 to 9 January 2022:

· 176 returnees were welcomed at the Lweje and Kan Pite Tee border crossings located in Kachin state.

· 221 returnees were welcomed at the Myawady border crossing located in Kayin state.

· 1,014 returnees were welcomed at the Muse and Laukkai border crossings located in Shan state.

Healthcare officials from relevant public hospitals and members of the Tatmadaw Medical Corps systematically conducted the efforts of testing COVID-19 tests and providing quarantine entry documents to the returnees, explaining instructions released by the Ministry of Health, keeping the infected peo­ple in separate plac­es and providing necessary measures as well as escorting them to their respective places in passenger vehicles provided by township departmental officials.

Myanmar nationals stranded in abroad have been welcomed through border crossings as per the instruction of the State Administration Council, and 60,079 returnees had returned to Myanmar from abroad from 25 July 2021 to 9 January 2022.

  • A total of 1,411 returnees returned from abroad had entered to Myanmar through Lweje, Kan Pite Tee, Myawady, Muse and Laukkai border crossings from 3 to 9 January 2022.
  • Myanmar nationals stranded in abroad have been welcomed through border crossings as per the instruction of the State Administration   Council, and 60,079 returnees had returned to Myanmar from abroad from 25 July 2021 to 9 January 2022.
