The Information Team of the State Administration Council (SAC) held the 22nd Press Conference at the Ministry of Information on 22 August. At the event, the Leader of the Information Team of the SAC Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun, spokespersons from the relevant departments, and representatives of departmental information teams replied to queries raised by the media agencies.
First, the SAC Information Team Leader Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun explained as follows:
- Reformation of State Administration Council and reformation of the Union Government;
- Amendment of the Five-Point Road Map and political, economic and social objectives;
- Matters pertaining to political parties registration, and losses in cyclone Mocha and rehabilitation processes; and
- Discussions with a delegation led by Mr. Martin Griffiths, Under-Secretary-General for UN Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator and Chief of United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) through a PowerPoint presentation.
Next, Vice-Governor of Central Bank of Myanmar Dr. Lin Aung, Deputy Minister for Planning and Finance U Maung Maung Win, Deputy Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Dr. Wah Wah Maung and the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Commerce U Min Min gave explanations about their respective sectors.
Later, the SAC Information Team Leader Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun and representatives of the departmental information team replied to queries raised by media personnel and the press conference was concluded.
The press conference was also attended by SAC Information Team members, representatives of relevant ministries, officials from the Tatmadaw Information Team, guests, and reporters from local news agencies, daily newspapers, local TV stations, and local-based foreign news agencies.
