A Work Coordination Meeting on Accuracy of Voter Lists Held

Union Election Commission is putting efforts to ensure accurate voter lists on the preparations underway to hold a free and fair multiparty democratic. Therefore, a work coordination meeting on accuracy of voter lists was held at the meeting hall of the Union Election Commission-UEC on 15 February.

During the meeting, relevant officials clarified that Central, District, State and Township level Ground census enumeration commissions were formed, submission of the first draft of ground population list to UEC, current tasks of citizenship scrutinizing and citizen scrutinizing cards undertaken under Pan Khin Project and verification of the political parties and Nationwide census enumeration will be conducted in October 2024 to ensure all the eligible citizens to be able to vote.

Next, members of the UEC presented reports on requirements to ensure the best outcomes in collecting voter lists. Upon reports, the Chairman of UEC U Ko Ko and Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing coordinated requirements, and concluded the meeting, it is reported.
