The events of providing honour of certificates to 13 townships for completing the Pankhin Project and handing over the National Scrutiny Card-NSCs to local people were held at the townhall of Myitkyina township on 9 January. During the event, the Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Khin Yi stress the following points:
· The Pankhin project is being implemented across the country to ensure every citizen has a proper scrutiny card for the future of the country.
· The Pankhin was initiated to ensure all eligible people hold a card can cast votes in future elections since the electoral frauds occurred in 2020 general elections.
· Besides Pankhin project, the processes of taking census and implementation of e-ID system are also being undertaken.
· In the process of granting household lists and National Scrutiny Card-NSCs, it was successfully completed by conducting door-to-door services in the wards of 13 townships including Waingmaw, Tanaing, Chipwi, Hsawlaw, Moekaung, Shweku, Momauk, Puta-O, Machanbaw, Nogmung, Kawnglanghpu, Sumprabum and Mansi.
At the event, a total of 32,694 NSCs and 537 household lists in total have been granted to local population from 13 townships.
