The members of the State Administration Council (SAC): Jeng Phang Naw Taung, U Moung Har, U Sai Lone Hsai and U Shwe Kyein, together with Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung, Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Khin Yi, Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs U Saw Tun Aung Myint, Deputy Minister for Ethnic Affairs and departmental heads arrived in Myitkyina town on 9 January by the special aircraft, and they were welcomed by Kachin state Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan, Commander of Northern Command, Cabinet members of Kachin State Government and officials.
The Chief Minister of Kachin state extended greeting message, and respectfully presented Kachin traditional Knife, Bag and Headscarf to the SAC members and Union Ministers at the Malikha hall of Kachin State Government.
The SAC members, Union Ministers and Chief Minister of Kachin state met and extended a greeting to the members of Lisu Literature and Culture Central Committee and local Lisu ethnic nationalities at the Lisu traditional culture ground. The relevant officials reported on the requirements of Lisu Literature and Culture group of Myanmar and presented Lisu traditional “Zar Zaws” to the SAC members and officials. During the meeting, the SAC members and officials enjoyed Lisu traditional performances (Kwarchal) and awarded cash assistance for Lisu Literature and Culture group.
Afterwards, the SAC members, Union Minister for Border Affairs and officials inspected the construction site of the Ayeyawady Bridge (2) in Myitkyina, visited the university library and met with the rector, pro-rector, professors and staff of Myitkyina University, and the construction of 10-track (50m x 25m) swimming pool of the Department of Sports and Physical Education in Thida ward of Myintkyina, and gave necessary instructions to the responsible officials.
