The families of Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) and well-wishers held ceremony of offerings of rice, cooking oil, pulses, medicines and cash donation to monks at Maha Withutayama Zaygon Pariyatti Buddhist Learning Centre in Pyinmana, Nay Pyi Taw on 20 August.
The ceremony was graced by member of State Sangha Maha Nayaka, Presiding Sayadaw of Aung Sitha Pariyatti Buddhist Learning Centre and sayadaws, monks and nuns. Lt-Gen Soe Min Oo, Adjutant General of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), senior military officers, commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command, departmental officials and well-wishers also attended the ceremony.
The audience took five precepts from the Sayadaws and then, they listened to Mitta Sutta chanted by Sayadaws and other sanghas. Tatmadaw (Army, navy and Air) senior military officers, families and well-wishers and made offerings to the Sayadaw of Aung Sitha monastery and other sayadaws. Again, families of Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) and well-wishers made cash donation for rice to officials.
Families of Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) and well-wishers make donation yearly to Pariyatti Buddhist Learning Centers for monks/nuns and Centers for elderly people since 2006. They offered cash donation of 22,610,000 kyats, 997.34 of rice bags, 292.20 viss of cooking oil, 2,797 viss of salts, 3,480 medical items to monks and nuns on 20 August, it is reported.
