Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin, acting in his capacity as Chairman of Disaster Management Team in Rakhine State received the delegation led by Mr. Martin Griffiths, UN Humanitarian and Emergency Relief Coordinator, at the meeting hall of the Rakhine State Government Office on 16 August.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the matters related to preparations before the cyclonic storm (MOCHA), rehabilitation operation after the storm, a boost for preparations and construction of shelters in Rakhine State based on the experience of the MOCHA, extension of travel allowance for regular assistance by partner organizations to those in need and improvement for social harmony between two communities as well as job opportunities.
Also present were Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin, UN Humanitarian and Emergency Relief Coordinator Mr. Martin Griffiths, Ministers, Chief Justice of Rakhine State, Secretary of the State Government and Mr. Ramanathan Balakrishnan, the UN Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator in Myanmar and Head of Office at UNOCHA in Yangon Sajjad Mohammad Sajid, it is reported.
