Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe received Ms. Elena Ajmone Sessera, Resident Representative of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and Ms. Noriko Takagi, UNHCR Representative in Myanmar on 6 February at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw.
- During the meeting between the Union Minister and Resident Representative of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), they exchanged views on matters related to ICRC’s activities, including providing humanitarian assistance in Myanmar.
- During the meeting between the Union Minister and UNHCR Representative in Myanmar, they exchanged views on UNHCR’s ongoing activities in Myanmar and ways and means for further cooperation between the Government of Myanmar and the UNHCR.
Also present at the meetings were senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Danielle Parry and Ms. Kyoko Ono, Deputy Heads of Office for UNOCHA and Mr. Christophe Ami Leon Taramarcaz, Deputy Resident Representative of ICRC, it is reported.
