Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing Receives a Delegation led by Mr. Martin Griffiths, Under-Secretary-General for UN Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator and Chief of UNOCHA

The Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received a delegation led by Mr. Martin Griffiths, Under-Secretary-General for UN Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator and Chief of United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) at the Credential Hall of the SAC Chairman Office in Nay Pyi Taw on 15 August.

During the call, they cordially exchanged views on the following matters:

  • Political transitions in Myanmar, State responsibilities being taken by the Tatmadaw under the Constitution (2008) for occurrences of voting fraud in the 2020 multiparty democratic general elections;
  • Endeavours of the State Administration Council to move forward firmly on the path of multi-party democracy aspired by the people;
  • Restoration of internal peace and requirements for undertaking the development of ethnic areas;
  • Spreading misinformation on various situations of Myanmar in the international community, the need for the international community to know actual conditions in Myanmar; and
  • Lesser aid of international organizations including the United Nations for Myanmar in the period when the Covid-19 broke out and storm Mocha hit, and further cooperation in humanitarian aid.

Also present at the call together with the SAC Chairman Prime Minister were Joint-Secretary of the SAC Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, Union Ministers U Than Swe, U Ko Ko Hlaing, Dr. Soe Win and officials while the Under-Secretary-General was accompanied by members of the delegation.
