Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing Delivers a Speech at Meeting with Chief Ministers of Regions and States, and Chairmen of Self-administered Zones and Division

        The Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing delivered an address at the meeting with Region and State Chief Ministers, and Chairmen of Self-administered Zones and Division which was held at the SAC Chairman Office in Nay Pyi Taw on 9 August. The speeches delivered by the Senior General are as follows:

  • The responsibility of a government is to take measures for the development of the country and it is necessary to implement practicable business activities.
  • Teachers are required to teach students to have comprehensive knowledge of school education in addition to other necessary correct attitudes.
  • As the country mainly carries out agriculture and livestock breeding tasks, it is necessary for regions and states to exert efforts to carry out viable production activities based on agriculture and livestock breeding.
  • It is necessary to encourage the production industries for serving the interests of the majority of the people rather than the minority.
  • Region and state governments are required to exert efforts for the development of respective agriculture, fish and meat, and manufacturing sectors.
  • Development of the MSME businesses will help to ensure growth in domestic commodity production, increase in job opportunities and improvement of regional socioeconomic life.
  • The tourism industry, a smokeless industry, must be encouraged for serving the interests of relevant regions through the arrivals of local and foreign travellers.
  • The government needs to create a chance for the people to work peacefully at home under the shelter of the country.
  • The chief ministers of relevant regions and states are to work together practically to truly achieve successes and develop interests of the people and the nation.

Afterwards, region and state chief ministers and chairmen of self-administered zones and division reported on the progress of relevant regions in agriculture, livestock and manufacturing sectors with endeavours of development, peace and stability.

Then, Member of the Council Let-Gen Moe Myint Tun reported on import of chemical fertilizer for agricultural enterprises. Next, union ministers reported on measures being taken for promotion of the nation’s economy, the assistance on ensuring development of agriculture and livestock businesses and commodity production businesses, imbursement of investment loans, and measures for increase in creating job opportunities.

After hearing the reports, the SAC Chairman Prime Minister delivered his concluding remarks as follows:

  • Efforts are to be made in regions and states for the development of agriculture and livestock, tourism, service and manufacturing industries.
  • All the chief ministers of regions and states need to encourage and push measures for promotion of the nation’s economy.
  • Not only teachers but parents and administrative officials are required to place an emphasis on the nurturing of the physically and mentally developed youths for the future of the nation.

Present at the meeting were SAC Member Lt-Gen Moe Myint Tun, union ministers, chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Council, chief ministers of states and regions, chairmen of self-administered zones and division and officials.
