Seizures of Narcotic Drugs in July 2023

Members of anti-narcotic task force from Ministry of Home Affairs joining hands together with security personnel are putting stress on anti-narcotic measures, and the seizures of narcotic drugs in July 2023 were as follows:

  • From 1 to 31 July, a total of 800 drug-related offenders including 691 males and 109 females were arrested along with a total of K55,010.745 million (over US$ 26.195 million) worth narcotic drugs which are 27.9 kg of opium, 301.21 kg of heroin, 12,300,858 stimulant tablets, 288 kg of broken stimulant tablets, 197.57 kg of ICE, 29.94 kg of marijuana, 171.51 kg of opium oil, 0.02 kg of low quality opium, 384 kg of Kratom, 0.1 kg of Kratom powder, 4.5 liters of poppy liquid, 4,897 Ecstasy tablets, 1,133.49 kg of Ketamine, 12.82 kg of Happy Water, 6,560 kg of Caffeine, 105,000 Zolam tablets, 350,000 Sedil tablets, 262.6 kg of Methy Ethyl Ketone, 12,442 liters of Sulfuric Acid, 40,040 liters of Hydrochloric Acid, 2,210 liters of Actone, 170 liters of toluene, 7,600 kg of Ammonium Nitrate, 26,860 liters of Ethyl Acetate, 5 kg of Vinllin, 5,000 kilos of Sodium Carbonate, 26,720 liters of Dichloromethane, 57,500 kilos of caustic soda, 5.7 kg of food color and 8 liters of liquid scent were seized. Comparing to the amount of seizures in previous month, more than K 21,479.977 (over US$10.228 million) worth of drugs were seized.

The arrested drug-related offenders were handed over to the relevant police stations and punitive actions are being taken against them in accordance with the law. Members of anti-narcotic drugs task force, joining hands with security force members, are making further efforts to identify and arrest drug-related offenders for the eradication of narcotic drugs.
