UEC Conducts Demonstration of Trial Voting with MEVM for Multiparty Democratic General Election in Mandalay Region

For holding multiparty democratic general election, the Union Election Commission (UEC) had been conducting the demonstration of trial voting using Myanmar Electronic Voting Machine (MEVM). In this regard, such works have been being conducted in townships of Mandalay Region since 15 January 2024. The news about the demonstration of trial voting from 15 to 23 January 2024 had been reported in the Information Sheet dated 24 January 2024.

• From 24 to 30 January, a total of 2,839 voters had casted the trial voting in Sintgaing, Kyaukse, Meiktila, Nyaung-U, Kyaukpadaung, Yamethin and Pyawbwe Townships of Mandalay Region.
• From 15 to 30 January, a total of 10,577 voters had casted the trial voting at the Mandalay City Development Committee and 14 townships of Mandalay Region.

The officials of UEC inspected the trial voting processes and left necessary instructions, explaining about the steps for voting with MEVM, it is reported.
