Two Thai Nationals and Five Myanmar Nationals Arrested together with Arms and Ammunition in Tachileik Township, Shan State (East)

Responding to the tip-off about the arrival of a group of armed men at a mobile shop, the combined team comprising members of Tachileik District Police Force searched the shop in Samsang (A) ward, Tachilaik Town, Shan State (East) on 26 January. Thus, they arrested Pi Khai (aka) Pannawit Pattong (aka) Koekel (aka) Sai Aung Mai and Nai Arnu Chay Bargam of Thai nationals, Kyaw Aye Tun (aka) Kyaw Tun Aye, San Mein, Sai Kham Lao, Sai Sei Kham and Nyi Nat of Myanmar nationals, alongside with four pistols, seven magazines and 62 rounds of bullets.

Pi Khai, a Thai national, is a wanted fugitive for drug-related crime and Thai Criminal Court released a warrant of arrest to him in 2021 and moreover, Tachileik District Court also released a warrant of arrest to him. Likewise, Kyaw Aye Tun (aka) Kyaw Tun Aye is a member of PNLO.

With regard to the incident, legal action is taken against the arrested perpetrators and further identification and interrogation are underway, it is reported.
