The ceremonies of entrusting PDF members, who completed trainings in the areas of some EAOs and returned to legal fold without committing any crime, to their respective parents have been holding as follows:
- On 2nd August, 16 male PDF members and one female PDF member from Sagaing, Tamu, Kale, Kantbalu and Pakhokku Townships with no crime records returned to the legal fold by surrendering their weapons of four rifles, one pistol, two grenades and two walkie-talkies.
- In this regard, the officials from the regional government presented cash award of K5 million each to four persons who surrendered with four rifles, K2 million each to one person with one pistol, and K700,000 each to one person with two grenades and two walkie-talkies. Moreover, cash award of K2 million each to those who returned to the legal fold, totaling K56.7 million. The officials provided foodstuffs to the returnees, and entrusted them to the care of their parents and guardians after they had signed the document of pledge.
At present, the State’s government has released an announcement stating that organizations or groups including PDFs are welcomed if they want to enter the legal fold for their normal civilian lives by surrendering their weapons following rules and regulations to participate in future work plans of the country. Up to 2nd August 2023, a total of 589 persons including 450 males and 139 females have already entered the legal fold.
