The fresher welcome ceremony marking 100th anniversary was held at the gymnasium of Yezin University on 27 January. Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung and deputy ministers, permanent secretary and directors-general, rectors and heads of department, faculty members and students attended the ceremony.
The university-level on agriculture was commenced in Mandalay on 22 December 1924. 211 fresher students are about to attend the university as the first year student in the academic year of 2024-2025 which is marked at 100th anniversary. The University of Agriculture is turning out agricultural technicians yearly. Up to 17 January, the University has turned out 12,983 graduates of B.Agr Sc., 65 graduates of Postgrad Dip in Agr.Sc., 10 graduates of M.Phil, 668 graduates of M Agr Sc., six graduates of PH.D by Research and 77 graduates of Ph.D, it is reported.
