Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing Delivers a Speech at Opening Ceremony of 25th Anniversary (Silver Jubilee) of Myanmar Computer Federation and Computer Associations

The Opening Ceremony of the 25th Anniversary (Silver Jubilee) of Myanmar Computer Federation and Computer Associations was held at the Myanmar International Convention Centre-II (MICC-II) in Nay Pyi Taw on 26 January. The Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing attended the ceremony and delivered a speech.

First, the SAC Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing formally opened the 25th Anniversary (Silver Jubilee) of Myanmar Computer Federation and Computer Associations by cutting the ribbon, and using digital technology. Then, the Senior General and party interestingly viewed round booths of the computer technology.

Afterward, the SAC Chairman Prime Minister delivered a speech as follows:

  • All must be aware of the power of digital technology to create everything at present. Hence, it is necessary to strive for the establishment of a digital social and digital economic life in order to keep abreast of other countries.
  • As a very important process, the Steering Committee for National Database Building System was formed for applying e-ID system in order to register each resident of the nation as a Unique ID (UID) and such a plan is being implemented.
  • The 2024 census enumeration process will apply a computer-assisted personal interviewing (CAPI) system.
  • The communication networks have been stretched across the nation for applying digital technology in all parts of the nation including rural areas.
  • The more stretched the communication networks across the nation, the larger number of users in social media such as Facebook, Youtube, Telegram and so on. In this regard, media must be efficiently applied social media.
  • It is necessary to systematically apply social media without harming the interests of other persons, especially not encroaching on national characters, security and interests of the State.
  • The Myanmar Computer Federation is required to monitor the safety of information technology of the people, and raise public awareness about the information technology through different organizations, participate in amending and enacting necessary laws in cooperation with relevant departments and organizations.
  • In line with the theme “Towards Digital Myanmar”, it is necessary to strive to enhance digital technology in political, economic, social, education, health and other sectors in order to keep abreast of other countries and in order to contribute to the nation’s development.

Also present at the ceremony together with the SAC Chairman Prime Minister were SAC Joint-Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, SAC members, union ministers, senior military officers, rectors, principals and officials, ICT and digital entrepreneurs, MSME entrepreneurs from regions and states, students, and invited guests.
