Armed insurgents and PDF terrorists are setting fire to towns/villages and state-owned buildings in some regions and states. They are also making abduction of and killing of local people who do not support them, accusing them of (traitors/Dalan), obtaining money by extortion from people, and blowing up roads and bridges. Military personnel, members of the Myanmar Police Force, and militia forces have sacrificed their lives in the fight against armed insurgents and PDF terrorists, aiming to maintain stability of the state and ensure peaceful living of the people.
On 27 January, the security personnel safeguarding lives and socioeconomic well-being of the people in Kanbalu Township, Sagaing Region, received an uproarious welcome and encouragement in Kanbalu from locals, departmental staff, and monks who are with Eugenia leaves, garlands and are playing traditional musical instruments.
The security personnel continue to conduct Counter-Terrorism Operations in line with the Law of Armed Conflict provisions, based on the Geneva Convention’s four articles and following the Rules of Engagement (ROE), it is reported.
