The Opening Ceremony of the 23rd Arts and Science Research Conference took place at the Naypyitaw State Academy in Nay Pyi Taw on 25 January. The Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing attended the ceremony and delivered a speech.
Also present at the ceremony together with the SAC Chairman Prime Minister were SAC Joint-Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, SAC members, union ministers, senior military officers, deputy ministers, rectors, professors, the chair and members of Myanmar Academy of Arts and Science, resource persons, faculty members, students and invited guests.
Then, the SAC Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing delivered a following speech after cutting the ribbon to open the ceremony:
- The foundation of national development is the sufficient educated people. Hence, the government is striving to build a prosperous future with high academic and technological knowledge.
- Enhancement of comprehensive education is of great importance to turn out qualified human resources imbued with intelligence, intellectual and intrinsic qualification, which are reliable for building the Union based on genuine disciplined democratic and federal systems.
- The government increases the research funds for universities, provides laboratory equipment for research and extends more research centres yearly.
- The 23rd Arts and Science Research Conference will be held by the Ministry of Education as a national level at the Naypyitaw State Academy from 25 to 27 January.
- As an honorable measure at the conference, researchers who compile theses for doctoral degrees from six ministries, including the Defence Services Academy and arts and science universities across the nation, will submit 314 research papers to the conference.
- The researchers who will submit papers to the 23rd Arts and Science Research Conference, faculty members and students from universities and colleges are urged to effectively carry out applied researches for relevant subjects, regions and the State, and apply their research findings in nation building tasks.
After the ceremony, the SAC Chairman Prime Minister and party together with the attendees viewed round interestingly the facts about the universities, research posters and research booths of relevant universities.
