Illicit Drugs Confiscated in Yangon Region and Shan State

The combined team including members Anti-Narcotics Task Force has been putting an emphasis on seizures of illicit drugs in Yangon Region and Shan State (South), Shan State (South) and Shan State (East). In this regard;

  • On 22 January, the combined team confiscated K15.1 Billion worth of 1,502 kilos of ICE (Crystal-Meth), 175 kilos of heroin and 55 kilos of Ketamine, together with two drug-related offenders after they inspected unlicensed TOYOTA Hilux REVO vehicle at a location near Nar Kaw (3) Village on Keng Tung-Mong Khote-Mong Sat in Keng Tung Township of Shan State (East).
  • On 23 January, the combined team inspected the Sai Swe Sei’s home located in Say Kham of Tachileik in Shan State (East) and seized K1.0365 billion worth of 2 million of WY-labeled stimulant tablets, 23 kilos of ICE (Crystal-Meth) and 75 kilos of opium in the unlicensed PRADO vehicles with replica vehicle registration plate of SHN 6K/5446, together with Sai Swe Sei.

Legal action against drug-related offenders has been initiated, and authorities are actively investigating and identifying individuals involved in that drug-related crimes.

  • The combined team confiscated K1.49 billion worth of 1.49 million of stimulant tablets in Mayangon Township, K12.5 billion worth of 25 million of stimulant tablets in Yatsawk Township, K30 billion worth of two tonnes of ICE (Crystal Meth) in Nawnghkio Township and K1.0365 billion worth of 2 million of WY-labeled stimulant tablets, 23 kilos of ICE (Crystal-Meth) and 75 kilos of opium in Tachilaik Town.
