Demonstrations of Trial Voting using Myanmar Electronic Voting Machine Continue in Mandalay Region for Holding Multiparty Democratic General Election

For holding Multiparty Democratic General Election, the Union Election Commission (UEC) had conducted the demonstration of trial voting using Myanmar Electronic Voting Machine (MEVM) with the participation of the departmental staff of the ministries and organizations in Nay Pyi Taw, those from townships of Yangon Region, representatives from the political parties and people. Moreover, the UEC continued its demonstration in the presence of the observers in townships of Mandalay Region since 15 January 2024 as follows:

  • From 15 to 23 January, a total of 7,738 voters at the Mandalay City Development Committee, Aungmyaythazan, Patheingyi, Chanayethazan, Maha Aungmyay, Chanmyathazi, Pyigitagon and PyinOoLwin Townships of Mandalay Region.

The UEC Chair U Thein Soe and officials inspected the test voting processes and left necessary instructions, explaining about the step-by-step process for voting with MEVM.
