The Waso Robe-offering Ceremony 2023 of the State Administration Council (SAC) of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar took place at the Sasana Maha Beikman in the precinct of Uppatasanti Pagoda in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area on 27 July and it was attended by the Chairman of State Administration Council (SAC) Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla. At the ceremony, the Senior General and wife offered Waso robes, alms and day meals to the members of the Sangha led by Thanlyin Minkyaung Sayadaw.
Then, the SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife Daw Than Than Nwe donated Waso robes and offertories to the Vice-Chairman of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee (SSMNC) Presiding Sayadaw of Thiho Pariyatti Buddhist Learning Centre in Kyaukme of Shan State (North), and officials donated Waso robes and offerings to the members of the Sangha.
The ceremony was graced by a total of 27 venerable Sayadaws including Ovadacariya Sayadaws of Uppatasanti Pagoda Board of Trustees led by the Secretary of the SSMNC Thanlyin Minkyaung Sayadaw. It was also attended by the SAC Secretary and wife, Joint-Secretary and wife, members of SAC and wives, union-level dignitaries, union ministers and wives, Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council, the Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) and wife, senior military officers of the Office of Commander-in-Chief and wives and officials.
