A ceremony to present cash awards to the military personnel and Myanmar Police Force members who were bravely involved in the suppression of terrorists who attacked the “Nat Than Kwin” Police Station in the area of Southern Command, was held at the Taungoo Air Base HQs on 10 January.
At the ceremony, Lt-Gen Tayza Kyaw from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) gave congratulatory remarks, and the officials presented cash awards to the military personnel and Myanmar Police Force members who were bravely involved in the suppression of terrorists who attacked the “Nat Than Kwin” Police Station.
The KNLA group and PDF terrorists launched attacks on the “Nat Than Kwin” Police Station where the security members and poilce force members from township police station in Nat Than Kwin Town based, for 13 consecutive days from 26 December 2023 to 7 January 2024. But, the counter attack of the officers, other ranks and police force members from the police station on the terrorists, the supports of necessary rations and ammo by air, and providing of certain reinforced forces and fire, causing the terrorists retreated in the evening of 7 January with heavy casualties.
21 long rifles, two short-barreled rifles, 23 assorted weapons and 26 magazines, 20 various types of mines, 96 bullets and six grenades were seized from the terrorists, it is reported.
