People staged rallies in Yangon, Lashio and Magway against vandalism of terrorists on non-military targets of pagodas and Buddha statues at the location beside the Maha Bandoola Park on 10 January, at the stone pillar of Independence in Lahio on 11 January, and at the location beside Kantha Mingla Lake on 12 January.Holding the signboards, the people attending the rally peacefully demonstrated by making shouts of the slogans such as “We don’t want terrorist groups which vandalize nationality, language and religion,” “Oppose destructive evils who insult our national sovereignty,” “Those who vandalize and destroy pagodas and Buddha statues which are sacred to Buddhist people (Our Enemy),” “ Those who destroy our language, our religion, our culture (Oppose them),” and “Traitors who abet acts of terrorism (we don’t want)”, it is reported.
