The ceremony marking the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) was held at Novotel Max Hotel in Yangon on 18 July. Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Maung Maung Aye and wife, senior military officers of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services and wives, Yangon Region Chief Minister, the Yangon Command commander, regional ministers, Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar H.E. Mr. Chen Hai, Military Attaché Senior Colonel Wang Wei, other military attachés to Myanmar, relevant officials and invitees attended the event.
The ceremony was opened by the national anthems of Myanmar and China. After that, Military Attaché Senior Colonel Wang Wei extended greetings.
The Chinese ambassador and the military attaché had dinner together with guests and presented gifts to them, it is reported.
