People including Monks Condemn Act of Vandalism on Non-Military Targets of Pagodas and Religious Buildings

It is unhappily found out photographs and video footages on social media platforms that MNDAA insurgents were hammering a pagoda, which is sacred to local people and Buddhist people, located on point-2202 hill (Sin Oo Gin hill) to the north of Si Awl village in Laukkai Township, northern Shan State.

MNDAA insurgents are fighting and making acts of violence in Konegyan, Laukkai, Chinshwehaw and Kwanlon areas, northern Shan State. In this context, they are vandalizing non-military targets of pagodas and religious buildings throughout the areas.

As insurgents’ acts of violence are willful attacks on Buddhism, Buddhist people including monks cannot bear and strongly condemn such acts, it is reported.
