Myanmar and India Sign MOUs to Run Quick Impact Projects-QIP

Ceremony on signing of two MOUs to run Quick Impact Projects-QIP between the Government of Myanmar and Government of India were held on 9 January at the meeting hall of Ministry of Border Affairs.

During the event, Director-general U Sai Tun Nyo of Department of Development of Border Areas and Ethnic People and Deputy Chief of Mission   Mr. Ashish Sharma of Indian Embassy in Myanmar signed MOUs and exchanged them.

  • Under the MOUs, projects will be implemented in construction of one-storey steel structure hill farming multi-purpose hall (60 x 30 x 12 ft) near Titeyan Village in Lahe Township of Naga Self-Administered Zone, a double-row of single storey Bailey bridge (20 ft in length) and four Box Culverts (5 x 5 x 26 ft) between the junction of 3 mile and 6 furlong on Lahe-Nannyun road and the junction of Launkyan-Noutgon-Titeyan-Lanhtain road.

USD 50,000 is granted for every single project of Quick Impact Projects-QIP. This project is provided by the Government of India to help support for development of socio-economic status in border areas.
