Vice-Chairman of State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win Delivers a Speech at Opening Ceremony of the Inter-University Sports Competitions for 2023-24 Academic Year of the Ministry of Education

Vice-Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win attended the Opening Ceremony of the Inter-University Sports Competitions for 2023-24 Academic Year of the Ministry of Education which was held at Wunna Theikdhi Gymnasium in Nay Pyi Taw on 9 January, and delivered a speech.

Also present were members of the SAC, union ministers, the chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council, senior military officers, deputy ministers, permanent-secretaries, directors-general and officials, leaders of sports teams for universities and degree colleges, managers and coaches and athletes.

The SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win at the meeting delivered a speech as follows:

  • Sports contribute to physical and mental health and fitness of youths, and amount to seeds of development for five kinds of strengths.
  • Therefore, integrating education and sports can contribute to speedy development of five kings of strengths for university students.
  • The Ministry of Education creates chances for youths to learn education plus sports while emphasizing the development of five kinds of strengths of the youths and sports sector in addition to upgrading school sports grounds.
  • As such, the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs assists in conducting training courses for physical training teachers in relevant regions and states in the basic education sector.
  • Likewise, Dagon University and Yadanabon University open BSc (Sports) courses in higher education in cooperation with the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs.

Afterward, the SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Prime Minister and party cordially greeted the managers, coaches and athletes of the competing teams who will compete in the inter-university sports competitions. They then enjoyed exercise dance, physical fitness dance, pom-pom dance, and the Kayin don dance of university students.
