A ceremony to hoist a golden umbrella, a pennant-shaped vane, a bejewelled diamond orb atop Naypan Lapan Pagoda took place in conjunction with the consecration in Seinsapin Village of Zeyathiri Township in Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory on 3 January. The ceremony was graced by the venerable members of the Sangha and also attended by the Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, and officials.
First, the ceremony was opened as per the program, and then the SAC Chairman Prime Minister and wife led by Pali Sayadaw fixed the tiers of the golden umbrella, pennant-shaped vane and bejewelled diamond orb atop the pagoda at the auspicious time, and unveiled the stone tablet of the pagoda after sprinkling scented water on it.
These four ancient pagodas of Naypan Lapan Pagoda were renovated by families of Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) and well-wishers led by the SAC Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla with the aim of ensuring the perpetuity of Buddhism, propagation of Sasana and preserving ancient cultural heritage.
