In the tenure of State Administration Council Government, efforts are being made to increase exports via border trade posts and regular trade routes. In this regard, Myanmar earned a total of USD 266.482 million from total exports from 16 to 22 December 2023 as follows;

  • USD 1.259 million from the export of forestry products.
  • USD 166.500 million from the export of CMP products.
  • USD 5.971 million from the export of other products.

Myanmar mostly exports products to Thailand, China, Japan, India, U.S., Germany, Poland, Spain, South Korea and Italy.

The upsurge in demand for Myanmar’s agro-products is found during the New Year occasion. During this week, the export of agro-products, prawn and other fishery products and CMP products to foreign countries increased.

The Kan Pite Te border trade post in Kachin State met the trade target in December. Moreover, over 600 international cargo ships docked at the Yangon International Port in 2023, it is reported.
