Unofficial and subversive media outlets have been creating and spreading rumours and fabricated news all round to create instability and unrest across the country; sowing discord between the Tatmadaw and the people, and using various ways to create a misleading impression of the Tatmadaw in the international arena.
- “Khit Thit and RFA”, an unofficial media outlet, alleged that the Tatmadaw personnel gunned down six people including Shan Myaung rock crushing mill owner’s mother in Maday Township. It is just an allegation. In reality, PDF terrorists killed the said-six people.
- “Khit Thit and RFA”, an unofficial media outlet, alleged that over 50 houses in U-Dein Village of Madaya Township were burned to the ground due to the arson attack of the Tatmadaw personnel. It is just fabrication. In reality, terrorists fired with small arms, improvised mortar and electrically-ignited improvised rockets at security personnel doing area security, resulting in destroying houses in the village.
- “Myay Latt A Than”, an unofficial media outlet, alleged that security personnel torched schools and farmhouses in Lat Pan Bin Pyant village. It is just distorted information. In reality, PDF terrorists threaten the local villagers and demanded money by extortion from locals and torch the village. The Tatmadaw personnel did not make any arson attack on it.
PDF terrorists taking position in houses snipe at security personnel; launch bomb attack on the latter; use locals as human shield; and make arson attacks on residential houses on their way of retreat. Unofficial and subversive media outlets are wilfully spreading such disinformation and fake news on social media platforms in order to cover terrorists’ acts and create a misleading impression among local people and security personnel, it is reported.
