State Administration Council Information Team Leader Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun Makes Clarifications on the Current Situation in Myanmar

The State Administration Council (SAC) Information Team Leader Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun made clarifications on the ongoing situation in the country on 30 December as follows;

• The news reported by the media outlets about the casualties of Chinese citizens at the Crown Hotel in Tong Chain of Laukkai due to the bomb blast is the attempt of the those media to disrupt the relations between China and Myanmar.
•  As efforts are being made to transfer illegal immigrants in Myanmar to relevant countries, Myanmar have transferred 10,914 Chinese (male), 1,402 Chinese (female) to China. Among the illegal immigratns, 1,054 Vietnamese, 534 Thai, 132 Malaysian, two Singaporeans, 20 South Koreans, One Ugandan, four Taiwanese (China) and four Indians were included.
• As armed clashes are breaking out in Laukkai area, the concerned administrative body is making sticky announcement, distributing pamphlets, and making loudspeaker announcement daily.
• MNDAA group wearing civilian attire are taking position in Laukkai, and daily firing at military outposts by using residential buildings as military bases.
• Moreover, as some MNDAA members are using some Chinese citizens as human shield, China and Myanmar will closely monitor and respond against the MNDAA’s action through cooperation.
• TNLA and MNDAA groups are making recruitment of both males and females at the age of 15 over for military purpose in their controlled areas. Again, they have hidden some Chinese citizens involved in online scams by taking bribes.
• Terrorists of insurgents is not only protecting illegal currency scam and online gambling but also being involved in narcotic drug-related businesses under the name of combatting the above-mentioned businesses.
• Recently, security personnel arrested AA terrorist members who lead the drug-related criminals in Shan State and Yangon Region.
• Responding the information tip-off by local people about the hide-outs of PDF terrorists near Nyaungbinthit village in Monywa of Sagaing Region, the Tatmadaw personnel raid the scene on 29 December and seized weapons, ammunition, seven vehicles, 1,000 WY stimulant tablets, heroin in 10 penicillin bottles and other narcotic drugs.
• Although how armed terrorist groups are full of wind, their businesses are just online scams, illegal drug-trafficking and illegal trading. 

He said that elimination of terrorists by the entire population, in collaboration with security personnel, is the defence of the nation and the people, it is reported.
