The State Administration Council issued an announcement on 14 July that it is in the duration of rehabilitation processes being carried out under the lead of the government in 17 townships of Rakhine State to return to normality completely and so these areas are declared as natural disaster-affected regions for the second time from 15 July to 14 September 2023.

1. After the extremely severe Cyclone Mocha, Kyaukpyu, Manaung, Yanbye, An, Sittway, Pauktaw, Ponnagyun, Rathedaung, Gwa, Taungup, Thandwe, Maungtaw, Buthidaung, Kyauktaw, Minbya, MraukU and Myebon townships in Rakhine State which suffered loss and damage triggered by impacts of Mocha were declared as natural disaster-affected regions under Section 11 of the Natural Disaster Management Law on 15 May 2023.
2. It is in the duration of rehabilitation processes being carried out under the lead of the government in these regions to return to normality completely and so these areas are declared as natural disaster-affected regions for the second time from 15-7-2023 to 14-9-2023 under Section 26 of the Natural Disaster Management Rules.
3. It intends to step up the rehabilitation tasks in respective sectors.
