Chairman of State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing addresses Passing-out Parade of the 10th Intake of Graduate Female Cadet Course

The Chairman of State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing addressed the Passing-out Parade of the 10th Intake of Graduate Female Cadet Course, that will reinforce the role of servicewomen of the Tatmadaw, was held at the parade ground of Myanmar Army Officer Training School-OTS (Hmawbi) in Yangon on 22 December.

Also present at the ceremony together with the Senior General were Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, wife of the SAC Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Zeya Kyawhtin Sithu Moe Aung and wife, Commander-in- Chief (Air) General Zeya Kyawhtin Sithu Tun Aung and wife, union level officials and wives, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and wives, the Yangon Region chief minister, the Yangon Command commander, the commandant of OTS (Hmawbi) and officials.

After the Senior General took the salute of the cadet company as per the parade schedule, he presented the Best Cadet Award for the 10th Intake of Graduate Female Cadet Course to Cadet Yu Yu Naing.

          In his address, the Senior General stressed the following points;

  • Graduate Female Cadet Course has started with the aim “To turn out female military officers to enable servicewomen to take part in the national defence duty”.
  • If we look back the history of Tatmadaw, it has recorded some of the brilliant performance of female personnel that began during the struggle to restore independence.
  • Complying with the Four Righteous Awareness: only “Going to the right place”; “Having a right companion”; “Doing the right job”; and “Speaking the right words”, comrades must cultivate personal development and living to become exemplars of moral integrity throughout their lives.
  • There are structured daily administrative functions at the regiment, unit and headquarters where comrades are assigned to serve duty. It is imperative to meticulously carry out the duties of the General Staff, Adjutant Staff, and Quartermaster Staff in strict adherence to the prescribed Staff Duty protocol.
  • The female cadets are urged to act in line with the characteristics of leadership and to strive for the good of themselves and fellow soldiers. Again they are urged to work hard ever to become good women officers who can be relied by the State and the Tatmadaw.

After the military parade, the Chairman of State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, met and congratulated outstanding cadets at the reception hall of the Headquarters of Defence Services (Army) Officers Training School (Hmawbi). In his congratulatory speech, he said that he was as proud as his parents of such outstanding awards of the cadets. The outstanding cadets need to maintain the good foundations of their hard work with perseverance and diligence and effort during the training course period throughout their life.

In the evening, the Senior General, his wife and officials attended the graduation dinner of the 10th Intake of Graduate Female Cadet Course of the Defence Services (Army) OTS (Hmawbi). First, the Senior General greeted the graduating officers individually. Then, the Senior General and party enjoyed the dinner together with the graduating officers and attendees, it is reported.
