The opening ceremony of the Youth and Literary Fine Arts Festival marking the 76th Anniversary of Independence Day took place at the Gymnasium B of Wunna Theikdi Stadium in Nay Pyi Taw on 20 December. The Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing attended and formally opened the ceremony, and enjoyed dance entertainment with the song “Youth and Literary Fine Arts” performed by the artistes from the Fine Arts Department of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture.
Next, the SAC Chairman Prime Minister delivered a speech as follows:
- According to the current global situation or the objective condition of the country, non-disintegration of Union, non-disintegration of national solidarity and perpetuation of sovereignty are the most essential and required national vision, goal and duty.
- Some big countries penetrate the developing countries by deploying their followers in order to instigate these countries with fueling problems based on racism and religions and cause instability with various ways and means of instigations.
- These big countries applying wordings of human rights and democracy portray the small countries as they like with putting pressure and intimidation in all means so as to put these countries under their influence.
- At that time, small countries like Myanmar may experience deterioration if they cannot safeguard themselves through collaborative efforts or may suffer the influence and manipulation of big nations.
- Today’s youth and literary fine arts festival aims to let all citizens know the history of Independence Day that all citizens adore, and the Independence struggle, raise national spirit and patriotic spirit among the youths and participate in nation-building tasks with well-versed knowledge and correct attitudes acquired from literary and fine arts power.
- The government adopts youth affairs policies to help the youth emerge as qualified citizens in accordance with the circumstances.
After that, young sport athletes from the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs performed skill demonstrations in respective sports, the Myawady Band and the students performed songs and dances. Then, the SAC Chairman Prime Minister and wife presented bouquets and cash rewards to them.
Then, the SAC Chairman Prime Minister and wife, and attendees interestingly viewed round the booths of the youth and literary fine arts festival marking the 76th Anniversary of Independence Day displayed at the ceremony.
Also present were Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, wife of the Senior General, the SAC Joint-Secretary and wife, SAC members and wives, union-level officials, union ministers and wives, officials and literary artists, teachers and students, and novice monks from monastic education schools.
