No (5) Up Express Train Delays due to PDF Terrorists’ Bombings at Railway between Minsu and Kyaukse Stations

The rail segment has been temporarily closed due to a damaged rail track and concrete sleepers on the bridge approach caused by a deliberate mine attack by PDF terrorists near bridge No.736 between Minsu and Kyaukse stations. The no (5) Up Express Train has stopped at 7:20 a.m. in the morning on 19 December when it arrived at Myittha station.

Security Forces are carried out necessary security measures while Myanma railway officials are engaged in repairing the damage rail track. Then, trains are running regularly as the train schedule.

From 1 February 2021 and 19 December 2023, terrorists and insurgent groups have committed 130 bomb attacks on railway and in the areas of the railway stations, 46 bomb attacks on rail bridges, and 12 arson attacks on station buildings and staff homes.

The Government is making public travel and freight transport convenient and swift. In this regard, it has been making arrangement for better railway infrastructures and for projects to upgrade the rail transportation system. By contrast, insurgents and terrorists have repeatedly committed terrorist acts to inflict damages on State-owned locomotives, coaches, passengers and goods; threatened the lives of travellers and given them not to rely on rail transportation in future. So, the local people strongly oppose and condemn the atrocities of the terrorists, it is reported.
