Unofficial and Subversive Media Outlets Spreading Rumours and Fabrication on Social Media Platforms

Unofficial and subversive media outlets have been creating and spreading rumours and fabricated news all round to create instability and unrest across the country, sow discord between the Tatmadaw and the people, and using various ways to misunderstand the Tatmadaw in the international arena.  

• The news that stated security personnel raided the Pachi village in Sagaing and killed three local residents is just an allegation. In reality, security personnel fought PDF terrorists near the village but they did not launch any raid and any arson attack at all.
• The news that stated local PDFs rescued four responsible persons with 35 orphans kept as hostages is just distorted information. In reality, the Tatmadaw never abducts any civilian as it always safeguards lives and property of the people.

Unofficial and subversive media are wilfully spreading such rumors and fake news on social media platforms in order to disturb peace and stability of the state and give a misleading impression between the people and the Tatmadaw, it is reported.
