Union Ministers Receive United Nations Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator ad Interim (a.i.) and Party

Dr. Kan Zaw, Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, and Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing received Interim UN Resident Coordinator and Interim Humanitarian Coordinator to Myanmar Mr. Ramanathan Balakrishnan and party respectively in Nay Pyi Taw on 11 December.

• During the meeting between the Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations and Interim UN Resident Coordinator and Interim Humanitarian Coordinator to Myanmar, they cordially discussed matters relating to the ongoing cooperation programmes and exchanged views on the future cooperation between Myanmar and UNRCO.
• During the meeting between the Union Minister for Immigration and Population and Interim UN Resident Coordinator and Interim Humanitarian Coordinator to Myanmar, both sides frankly exchanged views on the plan of the UNFPA Asia-Pacific Regional Director based in Thailand to visit Myanmar in the near future and the conditions for continued cooperation between the ministry and UNFPA in census activities.

Also present at the meetings together with the Union Ministers were Deputy Ministers, permanent-secretaries and officials, it is reported.
