A Myanmar delegation led by H.E. U Lwin Oo, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar went to New Delhi to attend the 20th round of Myanmar-India Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) in New Delhi, India from 4 to 6 December 2023.
- On 6 December, the Deputy Minister attended the 20th round of Myanmar-India Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) which was held at the Hyderabad House in New Delhial. The Deputy Minister and H.E. Mr. Vinay Mohan Kwatra, Foreign Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs of India co-chaired the Foreign Office Consultations Meeting.
- At the Foreign Office Consultations, both sides cordially discussed a wide range of bilateral issues pertaining to the enhancement of bilateral relations and cooperation, boundary matters and border cooperation, security and defence cooperation, development of ongoing projects of India in Myanmar, trade and commerce cooperation, consular and cultural cooperation, capacity building in various sectors and potential areas of future cooperation between the two countries.
- The Deputy Minister paid a courtesy call on H.E. Dr. S Jaishankar, External Affairs Minister of the Republic of India. During the call, they cordially exchanged the views on matters pertaining to the promotion of long-standing friendly bilateral relations between Myanmar and India, collaboration for maintenance of peace and stability, and development of the border areas between the two countries as well as expansion of mutually beneficially cooperation including connectivity.
The FOC meeting was also attended by Myanmar Ambassador to India, Ambassador of India to Myanmar and responsible officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar, the Myanmar Embassy in New Delhi and the Ministry of External Affairs of India, it is reported.
