A delegation led by Union Minister for Labour U Myint Naung held discussions with the labour affairs officials led by Minister for Labour of Thailand Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn at the parlour of the Ministry of Labour in Thailand on 6 December. During the meeting, both sides cordially discussed the following points:
- Matters relating to the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in labour affairs between two countries and signing the extension of the agreement on labour contract;
- In accordance with the decisions of Thiland government, the issuance of Pink Visa Card for Myanmar workers who booked for Stay Permit and Work Permit; and
- Remittance of salaries of the Myanmar migrant workers in Thailand, as the family expenses, to their relatives in Myanmar through an official way.
On 7 December, Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister during their tour in Thailand visited the factories and workshops where most Myanmar workers are employed, and encouraged them. Then, the Union Minister and delegates held discussions with the companies that registered capital of more than 5 million Baht about MoU procedures, inspecting the sites of Certificate of Identity (CI) Camp and Myanmar Labour Attache Office to be opened.
