State Administration Council Information Team Leader Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun Provides Updates on the Situation in Myanmar

The State Administration Council (SAC) Information Team Leader Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun provided explanations on the ongoing situation in the country as follows –

  • Officers and other ranks from the People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) took study tours around the significant places in Yangon; played a friendly basketball match with officers and other ranks from the Myanmar Navy at the Thanlyin cantonment stadium; visited Myanmar naval vessels and hosted dinner.
  • Thanks to the efforts of peace advocates and peace negotiators, another 193 captured tutors and students from Loikaw University were released on 29 November and at present, 11 others remain in the custody of the insurgents.
  • There were engagements at the Muse (105) mile trade post and Laukkai areas in the northeastern part of Shan state. Similarly, Combined armed groups of KIA and PDF terrorists launched attacks on the Taze police station in the Sagaing region. Moreover, clashes broke out at the state police station in Loikaw of Kayah State.
  • Regarding the armed conflicts in the northeastern part of Shan State, subversive media and others receiving assistance from Western countries are making incitements to ignite conflicts and misunderstandings between Myanmar and China.
  • EAOs of RCSS/SSA and SSPP held a ceasefire between them. The Tatmadaw has always attempted to negotiate between them to stop any conflict and ensure no further violent clashes.

TNLA, AA and MNDAA destructionists have carried out acts of vandalism and violence that harm lives and properties of the local Shan communities along Mandalay-Muse Union Highway following the Shan State (north). Moreover, they are attacking against the Tatmadaw by staying in the houses of the Shan people. Therefore, the entire people must fight against such acts of vandalism and terrorism by joining hands with the Tatmadaw.
