Naval Vessels from People’s Liberation Army’s Navy Escort Task Group (ETG) Arrives Yangon to Conduct a Maritime Security Exercise and a Goodwill Visit

Destroyer Zibo (Destroyer), Frigate Jing Zhou, and Qian Dao Hu (a supply ship) from the People’s Liberation Army’s 44th Navy Escort Task Group (ETG) arrived at the Thilawa Port of Yangon region to conduct a maritime security exercise and a goodwill visit on 27 November.

  • On 28 November, a Chinese goodwill delegation led by Senior Captain Sun Bo of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy visited the Naval Training Command Headquarters. The delegation discussed with the officials of the Tatmadaw (Navy) about the maritime security exercise and provided stationeries to the students studying at the Basic Education High School (Seikkyi) in the Thanlyin station.
  • Tatmadaw (Navy) officers and other ranks boarded and studied the Chinese warships, and the delegation also went on study tours to famous places in Yangon.

The delegation comprised of a total of about 700 officers and other ranks led Senior Captain Sun Bo, it is reported.
